Menopause and libido
About 64% of women aged 50-54 are sexually active.
From 20 to 45% of menopausal women complain of problems related to sexuality, which are often the result of loss of femininity. The reduced libido mainly affected by changes in the concentration of progesterone and the male hormones (androgens). In the case of menopausal sexual dysfunction they can be associated with decreased libido, as well as aversion to sex, or the perception of pain during intercourse. The most common problems include changes in the vagina, the constraint on, shortness or improper hydration. Menopause is associated with loss of sexual function. However, be aware that sexual dysfunction and decreased libido during menopause can be treated and enjoy a satisfying sex life.
